One dream, born to build even more dreams.
The newest St. Louis BWorks program is St. Louis Book Works. Our volunteer editors work with students as they write and illustrate their own books. We give them the tools, confidence and guidance they need to develop an idea — and see it through all the way to the end.
St. Louis Book Works, like all BWorks programs, is built on the idea that everyone deserves the chance to pursue their dreams. We strive to build the self-assurance kids need to try new things, make mistakes and keep trying until they reach their goals.
At the end of the course, they have a beautiful, professional-looking book that they have created with their own two hands.
Values we instill
The St. Louis Book Works experience aims to build kids’ self esteem, self motivation and self discipline. In addition, we introduce kids to the concept of “giving back” to the community. The kids graduate with a greater sense of respect and responsibility, and a strong desire to serve and improve their community.
Those aren’t just words. We see the proof every day, as most students stay involved, volunteering with the program long after they graduate.
