RIDE ON CHICAGO • ST. LOUIS PARTY

Pro cyclist Tim Johnson + 20 others are riding from Kansas City to Chicago to raise funds and awareness for safer bicycling.  Join them as they arrive in St. Louis in this special event!

Earn-A-Bike Session 4 Begins • Saturday September 28 from 10:30 AM to Noon

BWorks Earn-A-Bike program classes comprise six 2 hour classes each week for six weeks.  During the classes students learn the parts of the bicycle and their function, basic maintenance, bicycle safety & rules of the road, and more in a collaborative setting with lots of hands-on activities.  Each session ends with a group ride.  Each student who successfully completes the program receives a bicycle, helmet, light and lock.

Earn-A-Bike Session 3 Begins • Saturday September 14 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM

Create-A-Book Session 1 Begins • Tuesday, September 10 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM & Ending November 26

BookWorks’ Create-A-Book program classes comprise twelve 1 ½ hour classes each week for 12 weeks.   During these classes students use group activities along with individual mentoring to learn the skills necessary to author a story including the use of the story board to develop and idea, plot, character development, illustration and much more.  Students work one-on-one with a mentor as they write their own story and illustrate it.  Once completed each students story is combined with the stories of other students and published into a volume of “The Beehive” a compendium of Create-A-Book student stories.
