Family Friendly Ride #4: Saturday, August 2nd • Automobile Row/Locust Street

Ride starts at 9:30 AM.  Meet at the intersection of Locust and Theresa, one block north of Olive and east of Grand

Locust Street is now a favored route for bicyclists riding to the Central Business District from points west. But many of its blocks once were part of the first commercial neighborhood in St. Louis devoted primarily to selling and servicing the automobile. This tour visits several of the buildings from “Automobile Row” as well as other sites  of historic importance, including both the sole survivor of St. Louis’ first “private place” and perhaps the most overlooked literary landmark in the entire country.
